Choose their value over your discomfort

There’s a complaint going around that no one pays attention anymore.

They aren’t distracted because they’re millennials; they’re distracted because they’re human.

All humans, by nature, are distracted. Some generations are simply better at disguising it.

So how is attention captured?

The solution starts by confronting an uneasy truth: The real issue isn’t with “them”…it’s with you.

If you want your words to be heard—make them worth listening to.

People willingly offer their attention when they perceive value.

Have the courage (and the skill) to be intentional with every word that comes out of your mouth:

  • Jump into the action of your stories and build meaningful bridges to relevance

  • Ask intriguing questions and expect intriguing answers

  • Offer sincere and specific compliments

This communication style gains attention because it’s uncommon, thoughtful, and creative.

And that’s exactly why it can feel uncomfortable.

The question is: Are you willing to choose their value over your discomfort?

If so… you’re ready to be heard.
