How to know you’re a pro
The strategy was clear:
Close the workshop with a powerful story and make a compelling final point.
The problem was, I started telling the wrong story.
The approach had to change:
Continue telling the wrong story and simultaneously rework the final point so it would resonate with the audience.
Success.
I took a breath and replayed the experience in my head.
After years of working on my craft, this was the moment I started to believe: I’m a pro.
Being a professional isn’t about what you do, it’s about how you do it.
It’s not a title. It’s the mindset that drives behavior.
So, how do you know you’re a pro?
Pros don’t dabble: They’re all-in. They dedicate the transformative amount of energy it takes to improve and hone their craft.
Pros don’t stagnate: They’re lifelong learners. Rather than telling others to improve and progress, they model it.
Pros don’t go it alone: They build community. They’re open to being influenced and commit to helping others be better as a result of their presence.
The strategy is clear:
Commit. Grow. Influence.
Perhaps it’s your approach that might need to change.
Don’t expect to become a pro in your spare time.
It’s a full-time commitment.
Are you willing to make it?
